You should really come visit me.

This place is awesome. I am having so much fun. Since my last post, I have gone to the beach a few times, gotten settled in with my class schedule, met a lot of new people, started salsa classes, and explored some new places in the city.

Last weekend, Laura and I went to see Mount Urgull. It was absolutely beautiful - the trees were just starting to blossom and the views of the sea and of the city were phenomenal. Not to mention it was sunny and in the 60's. Mount Urgull is famous for the giant statue of Jesus on top of it, standing at 12.5 meters tall. Under this statue is a small museum/information center where you can learn all about the history of San Sebastian, especially as it relates to Mount Urgull and La Parte Vieja, my neighborhood (my apartment is 2 or 3 blocks away from Urgull). Here are some pictures that I took while we were climbing to the top:

Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of this really cool little park Laura and I found on our run on Saturday. We will try to find it again and take pictures.

I had also wanted to post some pictures from el Dia de San Sebastian, so while I'm at it, here they are:

It was quite rowdy. Our neighbors seem to celebrate el Dia de San Sebastian daily; we have our own personal alarm clock/concert every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. And some other mornings. And most nights. Take a listen:

For the first week or so of living here, I thought this was very cool. At this point, however, it's more of a nuisance. Once a week would probably be enough. But I still really enjoy living in this part of town. It certainly has a lot of character!

That's all I've got for now. Thanks for reading!

Love always,

Em
