I'll be home 4 days from now! I don't think I've ever been so excited for anything ever in my life. I miss American life so much - spending time with the family, being able to get groceries after 8pm, greasy food, my friends, driving...I could go on forever. The weather was nice yesterday and today, and should be nice until I leave Tuesday morning. Last weekend, however, it was actually warmer in Cleveland than it was here in Spain.
In other news, the Marquette Ski & Snowboard team had its end-of-year banquet last night, and I was elected president for the 2011-2012 season! So I will be pretty busy next year, but it's something that I love and I'm really looking forward to a good season.
I went surfing again yesterday (or rather I tried to surf again yesterday), and I am improving slowly but surely. It is much, much harder on the short board I got compared to the long board I learned with. Hopefully this weekend I will have more success!
Right now I am helping my friend Arla with her English studies. She is from Albania. It's actually quite difficult because her English teacher is not very good at English. Later tonight (at 1 am) I have a second interview with Starbucks regarding a potential internship for the summer. My roommates have requested that I suggest that Starbucks open a branch in Finland. They absolutely love it but don't have one anywhere. The rest of the weekend I will be spending time at the beach with friends, working on some school stuff, and getting ready to come home! Summer is here!!!!
And with it an overwhelming surplus of naked old men. Apparently Zurriola is a nudist beach.

Despite the less-than-pleasant scenery, the beach was amazing today. It was in the mid-70's and very sunny, and I was there for about 2 hours just relaxing. And I wore SPF 100+ sunscreen, don't worry Mom. So I am freckly and feeling great.
I also got my wetsuit in the mail this week, so I am planning on going surfing on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday this week. I took a picture of that too:
So now I own 3 purple and pink one-piece suits, which I think is important. And there in the background you can see my lovely bedroom! I will take a picture of the whole thing this weekend when I clean it. But here are some pictures of the common area:
It's a pretty cute little place. A few too many cockroaches for my liking, but they aren't hurting anyone.
Also, I went to visit Silvia this past weekend in Barcelona! I stayed with her and her family in their apartment. It was really great to see them again. I had a lot of fun there.
For now, I am going to go outside and enjoy the weather before the sun goes down. I'll write more soon! Take care.
